MAKING PILATES ACCESSIBLE TO ALL!

Island Fit Pilates offers you varied ways to achieve overall strength, postural alignment, lengthening of the whole body, balance, awareness of the breath and total body wellness via the use of traditional Pilates equipment including the Pilates reformer, Springboard and Mat. TRX is also incorporated to provide additional challenges and functional strength.   

 

Our Pilates method is based on and derived from Dr. Steven Gavin who began his Pilates program in Beverly Hills in 2007.  Dr. Gavin was a Chiropractor who incorporated Pilates into his rehabilitation program for all of his Chiropractic patients.  After learning about Pilates from Sebastien Lagree, he created and perfected a Pilates method that he could teach to any of his clients, encompassing all injuries or afflictions. The Gavin method is intended to create long and lean, strong and stable muscles and overall toning of the entire body.  

 

The Pilates method as created by Joseph Pilates and its principles ie: center, concentration, control, precision, breath and flow are incorporated into every class.

Camille Lingley Tracy and her instructors strive to provide you with a safe total body workout, where you will strengthen your core, lengthen your body and maximize overall strength. As a result you will achieve an overall toned and fit physique.

Owner/Instructor

Camille began her Pilates journey in 2012, receiving her Pilates Reformer and Mat training and certifications at Be Well Pilates in Alameda. Camille furthered her education, taking her Comprehensive Pilates training with BASI Pilates in 2014. She also received her TRX Functional Training in 2015.

 

She has been a Pilates instructor at Be Well Pilates, Rise Bodyworks, Face + Body Studio and Mariners Square. Camille is contemporarily trained but strives to incorporate the classical movement into every class. Camille also teaches Springboard and TRX classes. She is well versed at modifying for injuries and makes an effort to make anyone, feel welcome.

 

She is a lifelong student in physical fitness, coming from a background of sport and dance. Always having a drive for fitness and a passion to educate others, her involvement with Pilates was a natural progression in her life.

Camille is dedicated to promoting her clients physical, spiritual and emotional growth. She has an amazing ability to motivate each client by enthusiastically sharing her knowledge. It is her foremost goal to enrich the lives of those around her. She is committed to improving the well being of everyone by making Pilates accessible to all.
